Biography
Dr. Brisebois is an Internal Medicine Specialist (Complex Patient Care) and Palliative Care Specialist. She is the Medicine Site Chief at the Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton. She has been practicing for 17 years, in both acute care and community environments. She has a special interest in non-cancer serious illness care. She has published and spoken internationally on these topics. She is deeply involved with the Strategic Health Networks of the Alberta Health Services programs that focus on improving care for patients and families in these areas. Dr. Brisebois’ areas of expertise include Advance Care Planning (Living Wills, Personal Directives) and integration with Goals of Care designations, living fully with chronic illness by minimizing symptoms, navigation of the health system, and dispersed education in these areas. She has won numerous teaching awards, and has received multiple grants to further her work in these areas.
