THE MOST IMPORTANT ATTRACTIONS IN VALENCIA

·Plaza del Mercado: Lonja de la Seda, Santos Juanes and Mercado Central. ThePlaza del Mercado is home to three buildings of interest: the Silk Market, one of the best examples of gothic civil architecturein Europe which is a UNESCO Heritage Site, the baroque Church of los Santos Juanes and the Central Market, a beautiful modernist building

·The Cathedral, El Miguelete and the Plaza de la Virgen. The cathedral has 3 magnificent doors: Iron Gates (baroque), the Apostles gate (gothic) and the Palace Gate (Romanesque). El Miguelete, the bell tower where you can enjoy a fantastic view of Valencia. And the plaza de la Virgen sits on the site that once was a Roman forum

·The Serranos Towers. The Serranos Towers are considered to be the largest Gothic city gateway in Europe. They were built at the end of the 14th century by Pere Balaguer as part of the city’s fortification. They provisionally housed prison cells and served as a triumphal arch during different festivities

·Church of San Juan del Hospital. San Juan del Hospital is one of the oldest churches in Valencia, built around 1261. It has a unique nave covered with a pointed barrel vault. Inside you can admire the magnificent chapel of Santa Barbara and other chapels with paintings from the gothic period

·San Pio V Fine Arts Museum. Located in a recently renovated baroque building, the San Pio V Fine Arts Museum is one of the most outstanding s arts collection in Spain, renowned for its collections of early Valencian painters although there are also works by El Greco, Velázquez, Murillo and Goya

·Gonzalez Marti National Ceramics Museum. The Gonzalez Marti National Ceramics Museum is housed in a 15th century palace which was refurbished in 1740 in rococo style and  has a magnificent alabaster entrance. Inside you can find the 19^th century rooms and a collection of tiles made in the Royal Ceramics factory in Alcora

·Monastery of San Miguel de los Reyes. TheMonastery of San Miguel de los Reyes was erected in the 16th century over the old abbey. The facade is in a renaissance style and is framed by two towers with salomonic baroque columns. The monastery also has two cloisters surrounded by arch galleries

·The City of the Arts and the Sciences. The complex of the City of the Arts and the Sciences is made up of four buildings: L'Hemisferic is the IMAX cinema and  planetarium, the Science Museum where it is prohibited NOT to touch, L' Oceanographic is an aquarium or giant marine park and the Palau de les Arts which is an opera house and performing arts centre

·The port and the beach. Valencia hosted the 32nd America’s Cup, the international yacht race, in the summer of 2007. Visit the port and enjoy the team bases, the house of the America’s Cup, and the docks. After, walk along the seafront until you reach the Arenas, Malvarrosa and Alboraya beaches

·Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens were founded in 1567 for the study of medicinal plants. In 1802 it was installed in l'Hort de Tramoyeres, where it is currently located. Its restoration, concluded in 2000, allowed the reclamation of this spectacular green space.
